Duplicate messages
Why did the person I sent a message to get duplicate messages?
This is very rare but If one of your recipients received more than one text, that means there was a duplicate with the recipient carrier, or with an intermediate party between the recipient carrier and Betwext.
Users of all types of phones do at times (very rarely) receive duplicate messages. It is typically the result of a safeguard carriers implement when they think there may have been a service disruption. Sometimes duplicate messages can also be produced by the destination carrier when the recipient is roaming.
Another safeguard against perceived duplication is to check your generic auto-responder settings. To resolve please go to your account then profile (top right in the navigation). Sometimes subscribers may mistype or ask questions via your text number. If the generic auto-responder is in place, and the single reply is NOT checked, they will receive your generic auto-responder message multiple times. This can become frustrating to those who are using the system for individual back and forth questions and answers so please be sure to select this setting if it is best for your business.
As mentioned duplicate messages should be a very rare occurrence, and if you see this happening for an extended period of time to several different recipient carriers, please let us know by collecting the message records of the messages that got duplicated and sending any information to support@betwext.com
