Can traffic be sent via a short code rather than a long code?

Betwext currently offers dedicated short codes and it requires applying to the carriers (not all who apply will be awarded a dedicated short code). Costs for a dedicated short code start from $1500 per month (require you to pay for the year upfront) plus taxes, platform and set up fees.

Long Code is now called 10 DLC (stands for: 10 digit long code) it's the carriers fancy way of saying a specific area code number.

There are also TFN (Toll-Free Numbers) these are numbers that start with 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888.

There are different types of mandatory carrier registration depending on the type of texting number you chose.
